SUN PATH HOUSE | KERNAVE

The homestead in Kernave is a designed oasis for escaping the hustle and bustle of the city. A young family of four spends weekends and holidays in the homestead.

When creating the building, significant attention was given to outdoor spaces and the connection with nature. Three terraces were designed to follow the path of the sun: the eastern terrace invites the enjoyment of morning coffee while observing nature awakening, the covered southern terrace is ideal for midday moments shielded from the sun and rain – also serving as the main entrance to the house, and the western terrace invites one to accompany the setting sun beyond the treetops. Large glass windows inside the living space, oriented towards the forest, seem to erase the barrier between the interior and the outside world. The materials and colors used for the exterior and interior of the house were chosen to harmonize with the surrounding environment, becoming an integral part of it rather than contrasting.

Inside the house, there is nothing unnecessary: only practical and functional furniture and appliances. This creates a sense of spaciousness and allows for the enjoyment of the beauty of nature without distractions. The laughter of family members and scattered children's toys fill the house with life.
