APARTMENT INTERIOR│KAUNAS
A typical apartment built during the Soviet era has been transformed into spacious and contemporary living quarters.
The first floor of this 155 sq. m apartment is designed for socializing, with an open kitchen and living area with a large island, a bathroom, and a dressing room. In this zone, darker hues and bolder colors dominate. The second floor is entirely dedicated to relaxation. Hence, it is adorned with light, earthy tones, emphasizing comfort and tranquility. Two bedrooms, a spacious bathroom, a dressing room, and a sauna are thoughtfully arranged on this floor.
Only natural materials are utilized in the apartment's interior: oak floors and stairs, oak veneer for built-in furniture, and linen curtains. Deliberately chosen mirrored and glass surfaces, which expand the spaces and create a sense of lightness, counteract the typical features of Soviet-era apartment buildings with low ceilings and small windows.
A steam shower is installed in the second-floor bathroom as an alternative to a traditional sauna when space is limited. The room can be used as a regular shower, and when desired, the steam generator can be activated for a relaxing steam experience. The SPA theme continues with a sauna on the balcony. To maximize natural light in the interior spaces, the sauna is separated from the apartment by a glass partition, allowing it to be fully visible from the second floor, providing warmth and coziness even when not in use.
